Sailing Academy of Ireland also offers sailing to the yachting pros. The avid sailor can come and learn all the formulas to a winning campaign by discovering how to maximize the performance of their boats.

At the Sailing Academy of Ireland we offer Summer Sailing Camps for Juniors, Adult Sailing Lessons on Saturdays & Week-day evennings, Youth Developement Programs, Schools Sailing and Intervarsity Events.

Our base is at the National Maritime College of Ireland in Ringaskiddy in the heart of Lower Cork Harbour. The NMCI is a flagship of maritime excellence and is among the top maritime colleges in the world.

Sailing Courses

The Sailing Academy of Ireland offers the opportunity to give every type of sailing a try. Just finish work, drive down to the base put on your wet-weather gear and go sailing The boats will be ready and waiting. Don’t have the kit? A set in your size will be available for purchase. No Previous Experience Necessary.

Go Sailing!
Run as drop in classes on mid-week evenings and Satrudays. Its a hassle free way to give the sport a try or to take part in a league. Classes Cost €40.00 for a 2 hr lesson.

Start Sailing!
Liked the sport? Then take it further, Sailing Academy of Ireland is fully accredited by the Irish Sailing Association and offers the full complement of ISA sailing courses. All courses are available to Adults on request and Juniors as summer and mid-term Camps and lead to ISA competence certificates. Start Sailing (Level 1) Cost €250.

Step it up!
These courses are for the advanced sailors who crew on other boats or have boats of their own. It will be a mixture of seminars from professional sailors and courses on how to improve the performance of your boat. These courses will deal with sailing tactics, boat handling, sail trim and maintenance of your boat.

Take it Further!
Learn the fun ways to enjoy the weekends with your boat. See what you can do and how far you can go. Explore Cork Harbour, the South Coast of Ireland or take a trip to France. Organised tours, hired boats, chartered and skippered voyages are all available for the ones who just want to take it easy and go explore. No previous experience necessary but experienced sailors are welcome to lead. Good weather not required, sailing foulies will keep you dry and warm, only a safe harbour, a cozy pub and a fire place at the end of the day a must.
